There are very few musical gendres that I don't listen to, but my favourite bands at the moment are the Red Hot Chili Peppers, some songs by Metallica and above all my inspiration is John Frusciante.
Having said this, the sound I created was not written in relation to any other bands, I don't think I would have been able to anyway given my very poor musical skills, it was just the result of my internal chaos and enthusiasm.

For the time being, unfortunately my band is formed by myself alone... This song and the album where it belongs was born because... well, it's a long story.
As a teenager I wanted to sing, I had already written a few lyrics but for some reason nothing ever came of it. For a period I did not think about it, then three years ago, I felt the urge to write lyrics for song again, as there was a dream I wanted to describe and found I couldn't do so through poetry or novel, so the way in between was song. So I wrote words but was not yet in the order of mind for music, at this point it happened that Duran Duran, the band I loved as a teenager and that introduced me to the love for music, were coming for a concert in Italy to support their new very successful album Astronaut. I went to the concert and it felt as if I was catching up with a bunch of old friends once again, after so many years, it was also a slap in the face, as if an invisible "conscience" was saying "Hey! wake up! you haven't moved one step forward"... Still, that was not yet enough, although something was absolutely stirring inside me. It took a few months more, patches of great sadness, moments of excitement in discovering again rock music through my teenage son. It was when I finally got to listen to the Red Hot Chili Peppers that pure passion came bursting out again, a whole new universe reappeared in front of me, as if I had opened a window in the four walls of my routine and found that outside there was THE WORLD. I started writing frantically and I wanted badly to start writing music for my melodies, I felt I owed it to the person I was, to the person I have caught up with again... Not being a musician I had great difficulties with the project I had in mind and was getting rather frustraded as I couldn't find anybody to help. I had to decide whether to give up or to try another route by myself. I chose the latter and used a basic computer program, an unamplified Strat and a rather cheap mic to record in poorly conditions, I did not have the money for better equipment so I improvised adding instruments as needed. The result was quite bizarre, I tidied it out with the help of an arranger, and I like to think friend as well, and now although it would need some more doing, here it is... a great emotion for me, beyond the sound itself.
By the way, still looking for musicians for the next album.
