Hey, do you remember those fun Elvis musicals where he would be singing on a Hawaiian beach with an unplugged electric guitar while being surrounded by a group of go-go dancing bikini-clad girls? Well, so doThe Roustabouts, and they're bringing their Elvis Movie Tribute all around Central and Southern New Jersey, leaving everyone humming the tunes from Blue Hawaii, Viva Las Vegas, Girls, Girls, Girls, Jailhouse Rock and all of the other classic films from Elvis' "movie years".
Wherever The Roustabouts play, not only do they put on a great show, but so does their audience as the band encourages them to come up on stage and sing along and dance on stages decorated with Hawaiin leis, glittery dice, and teddy bears, recreating scenes from movies like Viva Las Vegas, Jailhouse Rock and Blue Hawaii.
This is not your typical Elvis tribute--this is a rockin' band with an upbeat, good-time show that leaves the audience with ear-to-ear smiles, making this one of the most talked-about acts in the area.
Their nostalgic set list includes great movie tunes like Teddy Bear, Return To Sender and Cant Help Falling In Love, as well as classic Elvis hits like Hound Dog, Its Now Or Never and The Wonder Of You.
The Roustabouts also do rousing renditions of songs from the era by such varied artists as Bobby Darin, Ray Charles, Little Richard, Jerry Lee Lewis, Chuck Berry, Dion, The Beatles and many, many more. If you catch them in the right mood, sometimes they'll throw in a little surprise like songs from Queen, The Stray Cats, The Romantics and other later acts as well.
