The Rowdy Prairie Dogs play Americana Music. Bluesy, Country-Rocking, Storytelling, Swampy, South-western-style Americana music. But these are northern boys with a southern heart. Their music takes you on a journey down the Dixie Highway from one end of the Mississippi River to the other.
In the last year, The Rowdy Prairie have had quite a ride. They released 2 CDs on the same day in April. In May robert J. and the band won 6 MAMA Awards (Best Country CD, Best Rock CD and Vocalist of the Year and Song of the year in the Americana, Country and the Pop categories.-"The Revenge of the Rowdy Prairie Dogs" CD was released to radio where it climbed to 19 on the Americana chart in Europe and to 14 on the Roots Rock Chart!
They've played shows with The BoDeans, The New Riders of the Purple Sage and showcased at Summerfest, The Riverfront Rendezvous and the Steelbridge Song Festival.
This fall and winter they'll be playing regionally and recording their next CD due out in the summer of 2009.
