About me: NEW BOOKING AT THE ROYAL OAKS: Unless you are a definite regular and get approved on the spot by JFK or Louie in person at the bar, there are two options for this. In an effort to better advertise and organize shows going on at the Oaks, you need to e-mail B.J. Lisko at this page. Or call 330-727-6625 to secure a date. If you have a show booked, please e-mail your fliers with all pertinent information regarding your show (is it free? is there a cover? time? opening bands? etc...) to this site. Hang your fliers at the bar also. The Oaks has a vocal PA only. Bands need to bring their own mics and mic stands. If you require more equipment, bring your own PA and mics, or they can be provided, you just need to let B.J. know. If your show is free you get paid from bar sales. If your show has cover, you get 100 percent of the door.
ANOTHER IMPORTANT NOTE: B.J. Lisko is only the "booking agent," and he stresses that term loosely, for "out of town" bands. If you are local or regional (Youngstown, Warren, Sharon, Akron, New Castle, even all the way to Pittsburgh) he will not be taking a cut of the door or the bar that you earn unless, 1. He runs the door for you for a cost of twenty (20) dollars. 2. He supplies a better PA or microphones for you which can run you all the way up to thirty (30) dollars if he is doing both. Or 3. He does your flyer and promotion (and if you're a local band and you ask him to do this he might charge way more because you're lame and can't promo your own damn show at the bar you booze at three nights a week) which again will run you a whopping twenty (20) dollars from what you've earned at your show. He is not an employee of The Royal Oaks, and will only be paid for his MySpace and promotional services in beer and/or spare ribs. He doesn't want your money. He'll just blow it.
