Chris Bauer: guitar, vocals
Elliott Bennett: keyboard, vocals
Kurt Caywood: drums

The Music Gods: music godiness
Influences
The Beatles; Elliott Smith;, Elton John; Rock n Roll Soldiers; Dungen; Bright Eyes; Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young; Bob Dylan; The Band......lots of others, probably.
Chris and Elliott knew each other back in high school, but never talked much. Eventually they started to get to know one another better and realized that each was a great musician in his own right. So after many escapades with mechanical horses, Photoshopped pictures of England, open mics in gay cafes, compositions aided by faux skulls, and shady drug-deals with one-eyed black men in the heart of Vancouver, they thought it was high time they start a band.
Elliott knew a brilliant drummer named Kurt from school, with whom he used to jam on occasion. Chris knew Nick from a former band of his and recruited him for the job of bassist. All that was left was to determine a title for the group - a name that embodies the prestige, the brilliance that is this band: ...The Royal.
With influences from old school rock n' roll to traditional Celtic music, from punk rock to jazz and so on, they like to describe themselves in this way: Imagine Elton John joined the Rolling Stones. And they did an album with Elliott Smith. Accompanied by Flogging Molly on occasion. That kind of gives you an idea of the character of The Royal.
We're not a bunch of snotty kids trying to look and sound more hardcore than the next, nor some group striving to be a Top 40 success. We're just a bunch of guys setting out to make good music - REAL music - and have a great time doing it. Put simply, we like to turn it up to eleven and ROCK. ...With prestige.
Christopher....I <3 your voice dear....remember when you used to sing for us on busses and compatitions....and you'd make angie and jenna and lizzie and i cry. You are so talented. You are all rockstars
Hello The Royal! And to Christopher: Sorry we didn't hang out this weekend. I feel bad. I wanted it to work, too but I called and texted EVERYONE and no one would give me an answer about class. Fuckers. Sad sausage. How are you doing?
I love your sound! I usually don't add myspace bands unless I know them but if I actually like the band I'll add them. I come down to Portland a lot, hopefully I'll catch a show of yours sometimes. Until then, take care.
