With a name like The Rubber Maids, many are left wondering what kind of music these four might play. Whereas Alternative was once used to describe every band, artist or group under the moon, this would be a good place to start with these guys.
Started by brothers John (guitar & vocals) and Keith (vocals & guitar) in early 2004, they would see many changes in the groups line up, until meeting Latham (bass) and Dean (drums), giving us the band we see today. Together, these four have worked non-stop in creating a sound all of their own as well as working on their live show that is sure to leave all those in the attendance out of breath, dry mouthed and definitely wanting more.
It really doesnt matter what kind of music you like, or how you might label it. If you enjoy clever song writing and original yet familiar sounds, then get their CD, see a show, or visit their website www.therubbermaids.com. You'll thank yourself later.
"The Rubber Maids redefine the concept of Alternative Rock. Clever chordal statements mixed with educated lyrics create an assortment of flavours, making a gourmet treat for your ears. The Maids are on the cutting edge of the new-school Urban rock that has been introduced by ground breakers such as Joel Plaskett and the Queens of the Stone Age. They have opened for larger acts such as Sam Roberts etc. This show grabs you from beat one and never subsides till the final chord of the show. A unique and impressive presentation, absolutely."
