Movies
High Fidelity is my all time favorite movie. It has all the men I should stay away from in it. The dorky, but endearing know-it-all, the spunky, woefully, immature entertainer, and my favorite, the gorgeous malcontent.
Fur, American Beauty, A Mighty Wind, Kundun
Television
Corporate marketing is insidious, and TV is their biggest tool.
Books
Books, the weapons of mass enlightenment.

"To affect the quality of a day is the highest of the arts." Thereau
About me: Apparently I'm a scanner. Someone who not only wants to do everything, but honestly believes they can.
I'm a singer at heart, a geographer, a book-coffee-and beer snob, and prone to being too serious. I'm easily annoyed by the banality of life - small talk, dishonesty, and the DMV. I love books so much that I get dressed up to go to the library.
I'm that person at a party who isn't interested in chatter, but will sit with you curled up in a corner with a glass of wine to discuss the real dirt of life, love, and politics.
"There may not be a hell, but those who judge may create one." Charles Bukowski
Love the title, love the cast, but haven't seen it! Thanks for the recommendation!
It's funny. One of my best girlfriends back home recommended a couple movies to me yesterday and it made me chuckle. I call her "Poodle" and my "Consultant of Taste" because she's like uber-girly and fashionable and high-strung, but we're TOTALLY best buds. It's weird. Anyway, she recommended Fool's Gold and some other silly romantic comedy. Ah, girls.
Happy 29th! You don't recognize a band named The Crick Rats, do you? Or a guy named Rick Bowman? They play in Nashville often, I hear (but who doesn't?!?)
Undoubtedly, East Nashville will NEVER be safe and sound. The only action I see, though, is during REM sleep (at least that can get pretty good). Your other contacts will have to give you the latest lowdown on REAL stuff.
I did, however, see two owls on my walk the other night. Big excitement. Someone must think I need more wisdom in my life.
