After a couple of demos and one EP release, The Ruby Sea, founded in 2001 have now completed their first 12 track album debut titled "dirty water."
It's musical influence stems not only from americana, but the entire spectrum of traditional songwriting. From classical songwriters such as Bob Dylan and Woody Guthrie to contemporary bands like Wilco, whose style is not bound to the static nature of americana-tradition. This allows them to transcend borders and incorporate muscial stylings, which cross the gamut from contemporary to post-rock.
The songs of the ruby sea function as a musicl backdrop for movies like "Paris, Texas" (Wim Wenders) or "Tortilla Flat" (John Steinbeck).
New song up! One to dance to with someone you love, or with the stranger you just picked up on a rainy street, or with your image in the mirror. Or whatever. Enjoy. Any comment welcome.
