The Rugs are Matt Dark and Shookie D. Williams who, after combining talents, assessing the merits of ALL domestic beers and wisely continuing their respective educations at Missouri State University (Matt, BA, MA Creative Writing '07 and Shookie, BS, Audio Recording to be conferred this May), decided the world needed another band.
Shookie, guitar, penchant for recording and Matt, songs, guitar, bass, drum machines, stayed up late, importuned upon their musician pals, and came up with a regional gem; 2006's self-titled first record THE RUGS, which went on to gain local crowds and regional respect.
VACUUM is the aptly titled follow up and proves that rockin' poppin' non-stoppin' hook-filled Midwestern nano-anthems ARE what the world needs and The Rugs are/is the delivery system.
