Living in a single mother family, Lindsay, her mother and two younger siblings lived through many ordeals. Beginning with the man whom Lindsay has dubbed as "The Badman".
Lindsay is a survivor of sexual abuse and the Sadie project is her journey towards healing. She began writing from a young age, but named Sadie in the August of 2007 after writing a song of the same name. It began with drawings of the little stick girl, grew into homemade dolls, and now has transformed into life drawings of the little inner child Lindsay has been taking care of for the last little while. Lindsay feels that giving her a name and experiences helps her deal with the loss of her childhood.
Although there are not very many chords, Lindsay has meant the Sadie project to be focused on lyrics and the use of her voice. From depression to rage, helplessness and blame, Lindsay portrays the range of feelings survivors feel during their darkest moments.
