The Sads are a Prague-based rock and roll/country band. They play melancholy songs. They are the musical equivalent of sitting in a vinyl chair without a shirt on.
Steven Rusling, the singer, and is responsible for the lyrical and musical composition. Matt Ford's cello is their sound. Drummer Mark Tierney produces full, epic, weeping orchestral sounds from one snare drum and broken cymbal that once cut him. Nick Jennings' bass gives the music a spine. Marc Cram doles counter melodies out on his guitar and saxophone. Mayim Alpert has been known to add trumpet and steel guitar.
