Please check out myspace/thesaid for the band's latest album, Divisadero
The Said began in 1995 in Davis California and put out two discs in 1996 (These Varied Carols), and 1998, (Manowar). The band morphed into Bellstar from 2000-2005, and played sporadic shows, at one point opening for MTV darlings Alien Ant Farm. The band has also shared the stage with: The Damnations, Brody's, Grub Dog and the Amazing Sweethearts, and Forever Goldrush, among others.
Partially relocated now to Washington, D.C., the band in 2007 is beginning work on a sprawling multi-disc opera of Americana. The first installment, ‘Northern California’ are appearing on various internet sites.
