    The Sainte Catherines have been around since 1999 and are the first band Fat Wreck Chords has ever worked with from Quebec. Montreal to be exact, sacre bleu! Their Fat debut, Dancing For Decadence (2006) is a perfect representation of their hard-working, hard-drinking, hard-hitting brand of punk rock. People call them crusty, punk, metal, hardcore…whatever, but they sarcastically describe themselves as “Motley Crue taking a bath with Tragedy while Hot Water Music argues with Leatherface about the state of punk rock.” At least we think it’s sarcastic…? The band will release Fire Works on October 26...

It's that fire inside that gives you the guts to make the first move on some street in Longueuil. It's the same fire that makes you say, five years later, "this really isn't working" on some corner of Ontario St. The fire gives you the courage to fight the sickness you don't understand but you'll somehow conquer. It plays over again and again in your mind, telling you "it's not over until it's over." Then when it is over, it's that fire you see, smiling back at you when you close your eyes. The fire still burns. When you need it to, it gives you the strength to start all over again. It's real. The fire still burns.
