Bio:

.. The Salvadors

The Salvadors have enjoyed a bright start to 2010, with their single Atacama Disco sound-tracking countless surfing trips, barbeques and suburban house parties over the summer, whilst enjoying high rotation on Triple J.

These likely lads (and lass) have been descirbed as a band 'full of blissful, easygoing charm who channel a spirited South American holiday vibe', and their recent performance at the St. Jerome's Laneway Festival helped them stamp their authority as one of Adelaide's most unique talents.

Having supported much loved acts such as The Panics, British India, Little Red, Bluejuice, Lisa Mitchell, Oh Mercy, Philidelphia Grand Jury, and many more across virtually every stage in Adelaide, The Salvadors are excited to release Misspent Youth upon the world.

Recorded with Matt Hills/Andy Russ in backyards throughout Adelaide and mixed by Scott Horscroft/John Stevioni at BJB in Sydney, Misspent Youth is a combination of right and wrong, it’s a party on a Wednesday morning, it’s a stolen romance.

Nice things that nice people have said about us...

ATACAMA DISCO - “A cracking single! The tune explores similarly Vampire Weekend-ish territory of the Hungry Kids of Hungary's 'Scattered Diamonds', albeit with a rootsier undercurrent and vocals that sit closer to Alex Turner and a football team than Ezra Koenig. [Purple Prose/The Hype Machine]

ATACAMA DISCO - "Good bouncy pop. It's got a bit of a ska/afro-beat feel that hints at The Clash and Vampire Weekend. It's a great song with lots of interesting stuff going on. Would love to see these guys play this live. ". [Dan Buhagiar - Triple J]

ATACAMA DISCO - "If this song were posted on Facebook I'd give it one of those thumbs up and it would say "Vijay Khurana likes this" [Vijay Khurana - Triple J]

ATACAMA DISCO - "Woooah, listen to that drum sound!? All echoey nice. And those little springy slide guitar bits! The amount of happy summer barbeques this will soundtrack is big. Just saying." [Steph Hughes - Triple J]

“Numbed full of good time, bittersweet, fuzzy brown cardigan edges and delivered with ease. Kings Of Leon at their most blissed out broken yodel, driven by the rhythm attack of The Strokes and Franz Ferdinand. Full of blissfully easygoing charm.” [Spoz’s Rant – www.spoz.blogspot.com]

“Give it up for The Salvadors…. great tunes…and a bunch of nice kids to match.” [Jae Laffer – The Panics]

“Every now and then you come across a band that has everything going for them and you’re astounded that you have never heard of them before. This was certainly the case with support act The Salvadors. Lead singer Tom Opie has a very raw and distinctive voice that could turn any song into a memorable one. The music crosses over into genres such as rock, pop, alternate with a slight hint of country. Tom impressed everyone when he announced they were going to perform a song that they had only just written hours before - the bands ability and guts to play such new material is inspiring.” [www.fasterlouder.com.au]
