About me: The Samburu Project collaborates with communities in developing countries to enhance men, women and children's daily lives by providing resources that address immediate needs while promoting long term sustainability and self-sufficiency along with cultural integrity.
The Samburu are a pastoral nomadic tribal community of over 150,000 people living in an arid, remote area of Northern Kenya just above the equator.
The biggest issue they face is not HIV/AIDS, poverty or genital mutilation. It’s the lack of clean water. Samburu women walk up to twelve miles every day looking for water and often return home to their children with nothing.

Who I'd like to meet: Lots of people, as we look to move the project forward our goal is to drill 13 more wells in 2008, bringing the total number of wells to 25, and we need the support of as many people as possible. The Samburu Project is solely funded through the generosity of contributors like you; we are also always looking for people in the LA area and beyond who are interested in interning or volunteering their time with us. Please visit our web site, www.thesamburuproject.org, for even more information; also feel free to message us with any questions.

Merry Christmas from Orphans and Orphanages. Sponsor an orphan or help feed the children that come to the orphanage gates this holiday season, and make a positive difference for African orphans. Volunteer your time and encourage other people to consider orphan sponsorship. These African orphans need you because HIV/AIDS has taken their parents and poverty has made it difficult for them to survive the famines that are all to frequent in Africa.
