THE SAME started back in December of 2003 when we met in high school and we didn't know what would come of it. Started with very quirky indie punk rock tunes with our first full length "Tic-Tac-Toe" in 04 and then moved on to a different sound of math progressive indie-rock when they released "Present Time Has Past" in 2005. We played hundreds of shows, went on a southeast tour, a tour through Florida, and a U.S. tour in summer of 2006. We had enough material to make a last full length this past year. Which for everyone that knows The Same knows our sound changed as we became older and our music progressed. It became a lot heavier with very driving straight-forward rock. Many influences were a part of our music over the years and we could basically say all music that has come into ears since we could hear. We opened for many regional/national bands such as: Torche, An Albatross, Battles, Travis Morrison (ex-D Plan), Medications, Mary Timony, Rahim, Discover America, Hellogoodbye, Action Action, Houston Calls, Wires on Fire and many many many more. And also tons of bands we are all friends and we would play locally with all the time. I won't list names but they are on our top friends.
We broke up recently and haven't announced it until right now. Honestly we decided to break up because as a band we all didn't agree on certain things, our lives at home and music tastes became different as far as what our music was about to become. Thanks to all of you so much for the support and keeping us around so long. We wouldn't be where we are all at today without you. It was a fucking blast no doubt about it and we will never forget it. Thanks to our fans, friends, family, aestheticized, all the venues/bars/clubs, and everyone that helped us on tours, places to stay, shows, and with anything and everything.
We got a great response... LAST SHOW IS JANUARY 12th @ The Neptune Lounge!
