This band is the product of many inspired nights spent in a clutterd uptown apartment, enjoying the company of acoustic instruments and brown liquor.
The band name comes from an old Peter Rowan story that makes a passing reference to Jerry Garcia's front porch.
"And when we first met Jerry, David said, you know Garcia lives just up the hill. I said Jerry Garica? He says yeah, said he likes to play banjo, I said you're kidding. We went up there, we walked up there, and theres a little sign above his door that says 'Sans Souci', which I think in French means 'no problem'."

Thanks for making sunday a great time guys - I really appreciate your help pulling it off and playing some great tunes! We had a ton of donations and at least 450 people registered plus a ton more that never registered. Thanks a million!
Hey Eric, I had a lot of fun jammin' with ya last night. We'll definitely have to make that campfire travelling bluegrass thing happen at Logjam. We could stick to simple stuff. Maybe try to think of every song we know in G or D or something. Simple chords paterns & lots of soloing. See ya soon. Peace. ~JD
