The Satellites Of Love (SOL) - Paula (bass, vox), Tuulia (guitar) and Anna (keyboards, vox) - started out in Helsinki, Finland in January 2003 doodling with their freshly composed folk, country and Beatlesque pop songs and premiering succesfully on the stage of Helsinki's legendary Semifinal club. A few days later, nevertheless, they packed their fortune “a few rags and a radio” (like their Bukowski quoting song "Gandhi" puts it) and Flew Away to the Iberian Peninsula where they and their music really grew tightly together.
The drummers had always come and gone but the music started to have more colour, the lyrics more profoundness and the sound a heavier edge. The band attracted fans all over Barcelona where they psyche-rocked the house in places like Apolo [2], Be Good, Capsa, Zac and the famous rock'n'roll club Magic... Eventually, in the summer of 2007 the Finnish femmes met their Drummer of Love, Pau (=Peace) in the mystical underworld of Barcelonian Metro. Finally the four of them could launch a joint crusade for authentically passionate music and hilarious times, never forgetting to spread out the Cosmological word (sights and sounds) of Love and self-understanding to all those in need - and indeed those without!
The highlights of 2008 for The Satellites were playing at Liverpool's famous Cavern Club & Pub in the International Pop Overthrow Festival and various gigs in Helsinki. In their homeland Spain, The Satellites toured with the American garage gurus The Fuzztones and played at the Pop Art Festival in Cáceres, were Bonvivant Records awarded them with a Pop-eye award for the best female band of the year!! In December they finished their third demo Psyche Rocks! produced by Ovni's notorious Stevie G. In 2009 The SOL continue touring and are planning to record their debut album.
The Satellites of Love's music is a refreshingly peculiar mixture of Psychedelic, Progressive and even Heavy Rock, beautiful vocal harmonies, multicolour melodies and original effects mixed with hints of Oriental sounds and Flamenco Rock, which make them sound and look like aurora borealis on fireworks! A totally unique, yet pleasurable experience you can't deny your eyes and ears, it might just blow you to an other orbit! The journey has just begun so don't miss the Psyche Train, follow the Law of Love!
