"These Detroit-bred cuties are so goddamned good." - Lauren Gitlin, Rolling Stone
"There's no way anyone could deny that the first single by these Detroit-raised avant-popsters is a thing of extreme beauty. Ivories are bashed, guitars fuzz in a vaguely garage-rock vein and someone starts to thing through the same over-distorted mic that Julian Casablancas patented five or os years ago. The whole thing builds and builds into something approaching mini-epic status." - NME
"Emma is the first single to be released from the new album, and if this track sets the pace for the rest of the album then we should all be very excited about buying it. It's well written, well played Detroit rock and roll and I really can't fault it. It's clearly the work of a group of very talented musicians. The drums and bass are so tight they seem almost like they're played by one person. The guitar parts have that classic indie-rock feel but break out into something much more beautiful in places. And speaking of beauty, I'm a sucker for vocalists with amazing voices, and I think I've fallen in love with The Satin Peaches' singer George based purely on this single." - Kruger Magazine
"This Detroit Band have been making waves in their hometown, and rising UK interest suggests a deal could be imminent." - Music Week Magazine (UK)
"The Satin Peaches are all about a big sound, which, with the state of indie guitar music these days is something of a breath of fresh air." - MusicOMH.com
"It’s a lively return from a band we look forward to hearing a lot more from as the new album comes our way." - IndieLondon.co.uk
"The Satin Peaches are four young men hailing from the spiritual home of garage rock'n'roll Detroit, Michigan who wowed the UK crowds at the tail end of 2007 on their whistle stop tour of the nation and are set to wow the record buying public with their debut self titled mini album." - ClashMusic.com
"There is certainly enough here to determine that Island records are still capable of exposing cutting edge talent, and that here they may just have one of those names that you will be seeing at all tomorrow's parties." - ClickMusic.com
"It’s a bit early to start knocking out Next Big Thing predictions, but this lot are definitely worth the pleasure of excited anticipation. Scribble Satin Peaches on a post-it and keep your fingers crossed. Lads, don’t let us down." - Jon Fletcher, New-Noise.net
" 'They sorta sound like The Kinks.' I hear this a lot when people are telling me about new bands. It is almost always a lie. This time, I found a group that actually sound like The Kinks. The Satin Peaches 'Bluechild Strumpet Machine' sounds like a Jack White-fronted band of Davies. And its excellent." - Keith N. Dusenberry, Real Detroit Weekly
"Intimate but passive at the same time, they’ll welcome you in and break your heart before you know where you are." - Kate Lucey, Gigwise.com
"The Satin Peaches have a bouncy retro sound, partly influenced by The Beatles and other bands from the '60s and '70s.. That comes across in the band's sound, which also draws from bands such as Radiohead and Franz Ferdinand." - Adam Graham, The Detroit News
"But the Satin Peaches set was stopped and the police wouldn't let them continue until all the kids were given their money back." - Goshen Kid, Indiana
"Listen to this cd... or eat shit you hippie smoking lansing fuck.. no no dont say that.. wait let me think of one.." - Chieftan Mews
"Approved by the USDA and Thom Yorke..." - Chieftan Mews

The Satin Peaches have already made the grade in the UK with the release of Morning Maid. NME had this to say about the band: “Forget the greased-up garage rock and proto-punk of The Stooges and The White Stripes, the Satin Peaches are Motor City’s new favourite sons.” The band has toured the UK on their own headline tour as well as a slot on the coveted NME Freshers tour and has also toured in the states opening on Alejandro Escovedo’s recent US tour.

The Satin Peaches were formed near the end of 2004. In 2005, they were selected as a finalist for the Detroit News Battle of the Bands and performed their first major live show at the State Theatre in Detroit. This was just the beginning and many other opportunities soon appeared left and right for the young Satin Peaches.
By developing a massive fan base through MySpace and selling out dozens of local shows across Michigan , the Satin Peaches began receiving attention from several Major labels. At that time it became a necessity to find proper management to represent themselves to these labels and they soon reached a deal with Ignition Management in London . This sparked a bidding war between Island, Mercury, and EMI and the boys flew out to Europe several times during the negotiation process. Near the end of 2005, the Satin Peaches signed a record deal with Island Records. The madness had begun.
In 2006, the band began recording songs with Owen Morris, who has previously worked with Oasis, The Walkmen, and The Verve. They ended up recording four tracks at Allaire studios in northern New York . After some crazed partying and countless days spent trying to stay sane, it was decided they would finish the tracks with Grammy award-winning producer Dave Sardy. They recorded two more tracks and properly mixed the four they did with Owen at Sardy’s own personal studio out of Los Angeles . With six tracks completed, the band named their first EP ‘Morning Maid’. The annoyingness had started.
In between recording sessions for Morning Maid, the Satin Peaches were invited to play several high profile tours and festivals across Europe . They were selected to open for the Go Team on the 2007 NME Freshers Tour. In America , they were invited to play at the 2007 Lollapalooza Festival. They also toured with Robert Randolph while also opening for several national acts including the Duke Spirit and the Sam Roberts Band. Things were pretty damn exciting.
After a year of disagreements between Island Records and the band regarding the release and promotion of ‘Morning Maid’, the Satin Peaches decided it would be in their best interests to terminate their contract with Island Records before things got out of control. Currently they are among negotiations with several American labels that show interest in the 'Morning Maid' EP and the bands future material. They released 'Morning Maid' by themselves in the Metro Detroit area and celebrated the release with a sell out show at the Blind Pig. The Satin Peaches were once again on the right path.
In the Spring of 2009 the Satin Peaches successfully toured with the Parlor Mob and returned home to plan their next move. The never-ending chess game of the music industry had stayed true...
