Well we've seen some changes this year which have meant an update of this page was badly needed... We are now a 3 piece rock 'n' roll/rockabilly band due to the departure of our guitarist. This has had at least some advantages in that we have got quite a few new songs together and the overall sound is more 'back to basics' wild rock 'n' roll. In what has been one of our busiest years ever, we enjoyed our gig at The Ace Cafe London to celebrate the life and music of Screaming Lord Sutch on the 10th anniversary of his untimely death.
Maybe now we can leave that part of our musical journey behind us and concentrate on a new direction. With plans underway for a new CD that will include most, if not all of the new songs and I am writing some more new stuff to add as well. It doesn't mean that we have forgotten our friend Dave Sutch, but we simply can't do the theatrical side of things justice while I'm having to play lead guitar.
So... What's this new stuff all about?
Well, I guess it's a mixture of Rock 'n' Roll, Rockabilly with a twist of the unexpected. Hard to describe in words and also hard to create on stage. Some tunes from the Stray Cats (the best band in the world ever), The Cramps (crazy raw rock 'n' roll) Screaming Jay Hawkins (the original VooDoo prince of R&B, with a voice like no other), Phantom Chords (Dave Vanian's side project from 15 years ago) amongst others.
Where do you find The Savages?
Basically, anyplace where you find live music, where they have asked us to play. From Motorbike Club Rallies to local pubs, from Rock 'n' Roll weekends to Monster Raving Loony Party events. For 20 years, in various line-ups, we have been out, performing and developing our music and our show. We have played support for The Damned, The Rezillos and Steve Gibbons. Played gigs at such diverse events as the Whitby Goth Weekend, The Wildest Cats In Town rock 'n' roll weekend and the Rocker's Reunion

Tales From The Darkside
Many people will already know that during the last part of 2006 and the first part of 2007, I was hard at work writing some new songs and The Savages entered the recording studio for the second time (their first very short album 'Sex, Blood & Rock 'n' Roll having been recorded in the year of Lord Sutch's tragic death), to record the latest album "Tales From The Darkside'. For the first time, we ventured into songs I have written myself and the album has proven to be relatively popular.
