In less than a year, Melbourne rock'n'roll juggernaut THE SCARLETS have already established themselves as one of the must-see live acts in the Australian rock scene. Taking a leaf out of high-energy, punk-infused rock n roll acts such as Die Toten Hosen, The Angels, The Hives, and The Distillers and adding the pure grit that can only be earned by slugging it out in Melbourne's highly respected pubs and clubs, THE SCARLETS combine a high level of showmanship, a good ear for melody and cast-iron riffs that results in a visual and sonic assault that will leave you battered, bruised and begging for more.
Born of singer NELLI SCARLET and bass player NICK IVKA’S combined love of ball-tearing rock’n’roll and respect for popular music, THE SCARLETS began as an idea to create a band that was everything they wanted to see and hear in a local band but couldn’t find anywhere. Soon followed the arrival of pocket rocket drummer LIZZIE DYNON, where the three discovered they had a chemistry that couldn’t go to waste. Through a mutual friend, punk guitarist RIK ANTHONY of NO IDEA notoriety expressed an interest, and from that point THE SCARLETS began churning out songs and booking shows.
From the get go, the determination and drive behind THE SCARLETS has seen the members up all hours of the night, from hand-decorating hundreds of posters, to running the streets of Melbourne on viral campaigns, to handing out hundreds of demos and creating their first video clip with cult horror director STUART SIMPSON even before the release of their debut EP, “BLOW YOUR HOUSE DOWN”. The hard work, autonomy and dedication THE SCARLETS show has already seen them develop a loyal fan base across Australia, secure frequent local radio play, interviews and features in Melbourne street press and radio, get their Youtube videos into the Top 10 music video channels from Australia, and much, much more.
