{The Scholars} are a quintet from Oxfordshire who formed in 2007. They have just released their debut single 'Turbulence' which is available on iTunes, Amazon and 7Digital.
The second single 'This Heart's Built To Break' is set for release in February 2010.
The demo of 'This Heart's Built To Break' was chosen as 'Track Of The Week' on Myspace Mars Planets Radio by Alex Zane. The debut single 'Turbulence' was playlisted on James Theaker's NME Radio saturday night show during October of 2009 and second single 'This Heart's Built To Break' has appeared on Alex Baker's Unsigned show on Kerrang Radio. The band have also been regularly played as a part of the 'BBC Introducing' programme on BBC Radio 1, BBC WM twice, BBC Oxford five times (including their live set and interview from Truck Festival), BBC Bristol and Tom Robinson's Introducing Show on BBC6 Music six times including their interview at the BBC6 Music studio.
Furthering this connection with BBC Introducing, {The Scholars} recently won the BBC Oxford Introducing Battle of the Bands on July 22nd to secure a slot at the widely regarded Truck Festival in South Oxfordshire.
