The Hot Grits	Jul 12 2007 7:47 PM Sat July 14th, The Schooner Tavern, 9pm, $10 The Hot Grits, The Benka Boradovsky Bordello Band and DJ Chef D Come here, little waif, let me tell you a tale...it was winter, the Schooner was on it's last legs and the local Tsarist Mafia led by the musically enlightened 'Shake Ed Baby' organised a big fight. Touted as a 3 pronged attack on stiff knees, pitting the eastern europeanesque gypsy madness of The Benka Boradovsky Bordello Band against the psychedelic afro soul of The Hot Grits, with quick funky punches emanating from the decks of DJ Chef D ... the inhabitants of the tiny village of Auckland payed 10 roubles, drunk many wines, and danced till their feet broke through the floorboards. It was a Saturday, on the 14th of July, and The Schooner Tavern heaved mightily one last time... now go and fetch your mother and sisters...
