Influences
"Pete Schottsy is a Spartanburg-based singer-songwriter, but he often sounds as if he's from Europe. An immensely talented vocalist and guitarist, Schottsy produces silky folk-pop with an indie-rock feel. His gorgeous Beatles-esque melodies should appeal to fans of such seminal modern artists as Sondre Lerche and Rufus Wainwright. Schottsy performs Sunday at Sonny's Brick Oven Pizza as part of the weekly songwriter's series..."

For the Herald-Journal
I have recently relocated to Upstate, South Carolina. Surrounded by a lovely cluster of little towns, and the Blue Ridge Mountains, me and my newly formed band, the Sharpshooters (consisting of Jennifer and her tambourine) are taking aim and filling every nook & cranny with our neo-1960s, folk sound.
While in search of venues, I am working on an anthology of music that may span a 3 e.p. disc set, (or perhaps a long list of songs available for download.) With the inspiration of giant windows and 20 foot ceilings, I am looking for sounds that are familiar, yet stunning, comforting, yet riveting. Its music that is long overdue, and I am eager for you to have a listen. If you have any ideas, instruments, or if you would like to help book a gig, or host a Sharpshooter gig in your city or living room, please send a message here on myspace or e-mail schottsy@gmail.com. Thanks so much for your support; please check back daily for more updates and smiles.

well i suppose in all cases yes haha. I'm not sure if you meant me playing cello on the music, or if that is my cello in the pictures. But in both cases, yes it is I playing, and on my own cello. Thanks for the feedback :) I'll hit your music up soon, I'm just kinda in a library right now haha
