Darren Byrne (vocals, guitar, bodhran) is a genius and is a master craftmans at songwriting. His Songs have all the essential ingredients of love, hate, hope and tons of imagination. This man is an artist painting masterpieces. At times, he is surreal & mad as a hatter as well as being hilarious funny with songs about an old uncle with an infection in his ear. Anyone who can write a song about a Lama ridding a tram through the streets of Amsterdam must be all of this.
Mark Gilligan (vocals, clarinet, whistles, wind modulator, bodhran) A true Dub, which you can hear the moment he raises his voice to sing. Also a true stage-animal who pours himself heart and soul into every performance, switching from one instrument to the other including that rarity the wind modulator (lovingly referred to by the band as ‘the hoover’). No stranger to the big stage having performed with Ronnie Drew, Tir na nOg, Noel Redding and Shane McGowan among others.
Siard de Jong (vocals, fiddle, basouki) the virtuoso in this band, able to play any instrument that comes to hand and as good at a moving ballad as he is at fast and furious tunes. Not surpisingly he has been regularly asked to tour and record with many big names including Ronnie Drew, Mike Hanrahan, Finbar Furey, Allan Taylor . He will blind you with his wizardry.
Jim Richardson bass guitar, will join the Irish brew during their Colorado tour. The regular bass man for the Linda & Jessica Storey band, traveling and performing with both bands during their tours together, he keeps them steady and tight as their music takes you through the legends and lives of Ireland.
