Formed in 2006 by brothers, Drew, Stephen (Gabriel Graves), Chris (Napalm) & Benny (Only) Anguiano, the band was originally called ..ANGUIANOS.. and featured Drew on Lead Guitar, Stephen on Bass, Chris on Vocals & Benny on Drums. The band would hold very infrequent jams and almost never practice. When the boys got tired of having to pronounce their last name for everyone, they decided on a name change. Sarah (Mom) had a broken leg at the time and the boys were always giving her the business about what a disaster her leg was gonna look like when the cast was removed, a joke was made that her leg would have scurvy and she started to refer to the boys as her "scurvy kids." When the name was formally suggested to all, and after the original burst of laughter, it was decided, ..SCURVY KIDS.. would be the name from then on... Drew began attending college and between school and work no longer had free time. A very difficult decision was made at that point to find a new guitar player. What made it so hard was the boys had always wanted it to be family... A show was heading their way and no complete songs were learned or anything. Chris jumped over to guitar for practice purposes and the band learned 5 songs for the first show. By this time dozens of Scurvy Kids shirts had been distributed (The original t-shirt logo was a play on the Motorhead logo since it was one of the boys favorite bands), A good friend of the band Chris Wickman told them it was time to shit or get off the pot and that if they were gonna be a band, they better get their act together and be a band! So it was Chris that was called upon to play guitar for the SK for their first ever live show! The 5 songs that were played were "We Are 138" & "Skulls" by the Misfits, "Angel" by the Adicts, "Drink Drank Punk" by Anti-Flag and "Punk Rock Love" by the Casualties, 5 songs that are still in the set today. After the show, the three brothers went on a quest for a guitar player, when a suitable replacement couldn't be found (Their friend Troy joined up but his musical style didn't quite click), they just decided that the very best choice for a guitarist was our very own Chris Napalm. It was also decided that 9 year-old Benny Only would move out from behind the drum kit and become the lead singer. So now a search for a drummer was on. A few people were brought in to try out and it was decided that long time friend Josh Killem would be asked to join the SK. Similar to Troy, there was also a split in musical styles with Josh. During all of this time the boys had recruited their dad to fill in on drums for practices. Now he would be added permanently, That's where the SK now stands, Gabriel Graves on bass, Chris Napalm on guitar and Benny Only on lead vocals. We have played shows with great bands like The Order Of The Fly, Bitchfits, Blitzkid, Demonia, Calabrese, Rezurex, Murderland, The Limit Club, The Returners, Back To Zero, The Rhythm Coffin, and so many more...
