   About The Sea Dogs

Welcome aboard, Shipmates! The Sea Dogs perform sea chanties and songs of the sea. Their shows are fun and informative for land lubbers and salty dogs of all ages.

What are sea chanties?

In the days of wooden ships powered by sail, the chantey was the work song of the sailor. They not only provided rhythm for the task at hand, but also helped keep up the spirits of the crew. Most chanties followed a simple pattern, where the lead singer (the chanteyman) would sing a line and the crew joined in on the chorus.

i think people are mocking the whole "pirate music" thing. i mean swashbuckle's cool and all, but i recently found a guy who said he was "pirate hip hop"? captain dan? wtf man? everyone's automatically a pirate when they said "argh". what's up with that? posers. we're originals. ACCEPT NO IMITATIONS!
