In 2002 Sean Cotton found himself in the privileged place of taking up a Thursday night residency at Roc'n'Docs (www.rocndocs.com), a live music venue in Port Credit Ontario. Sean hand picked his band out of some of the most well respected sidemen in the GTA with the mandate, "to play rock music the way it had been played by his heroes". The band consists of keyboardist/vocalist Steve Klodt, Steve Skingley on bass guitar/backing vocals, with Mike Churchill on drums.----Performing original compositions reflective of like minded artists such as Paul Weller, The Allman Brothers, Govt Mule and Little Feat, Sean leads the band through exploratory journeys of the material, often extending songs for up to 20 minutes. Facetiously, Cotton describes the music as a 70s arena rock performance without the light show.----Audiences have been loving the experience every Thursday night in Port Credit for the past five years. In 2006 the band toured Ontario as a supporting act and backing "house" band for ROCKSTAR:INXS contestants, as well as Suzie McNeil's sollo project.----The band is currently promoting Sean Cotton's debut CD in clubs and on festival stages throughout Southern Ontario. The live album, recorded over two nights in May of 2005, is a 65 minute CD entitled SEAN COTTON & THE THURSDAY NIGHT BAND "THE LAST CALL CLUB is comprised entirely of original songs capturing Sean's unique music and vision. Sean Cotton...the sunshine coast misses you! I sure hope you lads are enjoying the rest of Oz. It was magical to share the stage with you on your last night in town. Let's do it again someday hey?
You guys played great the other nite@ Roc n"Docs! It was a pleasure to hear the band together again, snd still tight as hell!I miss the journeys we took onstage from one end of the song to the other! Thanks for getting me up...hope I made the cut!!LOL!!
Sometimes the best part of a gig is between sets when you end up listing to a guy ramble on enthusiastically about how he once saw Bobby Hull in a Guelph bar. That sure was funny... but not the best part of the show. Nice playing. Great to hear those songs.
Hey Sean, How's it goin. Been a little while. Lookin forward to seein you at the Moonshine in June. Gotta love that place. It's like being back in the 70's at least!!
