The Seed is a group of talented twenty-somethings currently hailing from southwest Virginia (U.S.A.). Newly formed as of the Fall of 2005, The Seed began as a reggae/rock-infused trio. Since then, the group has set out to create a tactful array of soulfully crafted, melodically smooth gems that would not only incite listener appeal but would also provoke deeper thought on issues of societal development, personal growth and the direction of the youth of today. During 2006 and 2007 the band underwent several changes to the lineup at bass, keys and lead guitar, but the founding members and song writing core of S.G. Lewis "The Ambassador" (Vocals/Guitars) and Brent Hoskins (Drums/Percussion/Guitars) remained the same. The addition of bassist Jason DiCicco in 2007 set the stage for the release of The Seed's full length self-titled debut album in May of 2008. The band credits much of the early success of the album to college and internet radio. Lewis, Hoskins and DiCicco are all natives of the Blue Ridge Mountain region of Virginia. They are occasionally joined in the studio and on stage by various musicians including childhood friend John "Slothman" Spence (Percussion/Vocals), Jamiel Allen (Keys) and James Pace (Keys). It is the band's intent to make music that makes you feel good or just feel, period. Reggae and R&B, Funk and Rock - multiple styles of music have brought inspiration to the band throughout the years. Such influences can be heard in the stylings of The Seed's repetoire as their rhythms touch upon many different genres. The Seed's sound is one even haters have to listen to. -GOLD MEDAL AWARD-BEST AREA MUSICIANS 2006 -

WOW! No comments for the month of August. It's like a ghost-town profile. I remember the good old days of gettin comments gallore! "Hello!",..."Hello!",...Hello!" "Echoe!",..."Echoe!",..."Echoe!" Well, we do have a reunion show coming up on New Year's Eve. Maybe this profile will be visited again one day,...from somebody else besides an old member of the band. Peace!
JAMIE IRIE is working with top reggea band HOUSE OF RIDDIM at the very moment on a L.P called KINGSTON 13 and will have some new releases this year and a tour to follow.look out for him. www.myspace.com/houseofriddim .
WORDS CAN BE SO SIMPLE .A video shoot at various locations UK. and J.A by Chris Ilston of CRIZ.E produtions .......
( WORDS CAN BE SO SIMPLE) backed by the HOUSE OF RIDDIM with a solid bass and wicked horn section and drums to rock with. A tune for the reggea music fan at its very best . This tune will make you get up and go and move you forword to a positive state of mind. www.myspace.com/houseofriddim Jamie, here's my HONEST opinion & comments.... "Words can be so simple...Actions..." YES, but MUSIC also speaks louder than words....& thats EXACTLY what this tune does. From the intro chants of "LION....LION!", you get the feeling of positivity & strength from the word GO! The bubbling riddim track is met with uplifting vocal vibes from Mr Irie. A tune aimed at those who talk 'round di ting' & don't seem to put talk into motion, this song hits the spot. A vibesy tune to fill the air with as much punch as ALBORO
Hey, thanks man. Yeah, I mixed it in my head phones and it doesn't sound quite the same way it sounded then, but I'm happy with potential of it. As far as when the albums dropping...Well how about when I'm 40. It should be ready then...

It is sad to see such an inspirational era come to an end, as you guys really maintained the true message; and your fans reflected that back at you at every show. Thanks for letting me play with you guys, its truly an honor. Now, lets keep in touch and make some more music
I hate to see The Seed come to an end. Maybe a reunion show some day? I hope so. You guys have a lot of talent all around. Catch you on the flip side. Peace
Great last show guys, although I would be lying if I said that I wish it wasn't (the last of course). You guys rocked my socks every time I saw you. You will be missed, very missed. Thanks for all the great times! Please keep in touch...PEACE
