informed by free jazz and influenced by middle eastern, traditional african, and indian music, 'these mountains' first record was released in 2006, (a short run of hand pressed CDr’s, currently unavailable).
in early 2007 these mountains was invited to curate an exhibition of collected film and music at the bunker gallery (leeds) over a period of two weeks, featuring live performances.
work began on the first long player in winter 2008. utilising tanpura, tabla, minimal guitar, koto and field recordings. the album mixes percussive instruments, minimalist arrangements and influences of landscape and nature. the follow up album, 'eternal now' is the first of several planned new releases for 2009, including the 'tibet' extended player and planned collaborations.

20/10/09: these mountains will be performing at the rendezvous festival in setubal, portugal on 25th october details and tickets are available from http://www.rendezvousinfo.org. details of forthcoming releases and new material will be announced soon.
11/08/09: music from the 'tibet' extended player is being used for an italian film presenting the voices of the tibetan minority in italy. more details to follow on completion.
