Samuel (sam-well) Lopez-Barrantes plays a keyboard machine, while simultaneously singing things into his microphone. (When he feels like living in the country) Sometimes he hits the button that makes bad midi beats play, until we all awkwardly look at him and he shuts it off. Aaron Lopez-Barrantes plays a guitar while also singing things sometimes, too. Twins. McCrae Hathaway plays bass and the beard, and sometimes makes funny noises out of it with various effects. (the bass, not the beard) Brian Reid plays drums and cymbals with sticks, and tries hard not to get his equipment stolen. Brendan Dempsey holds down the sax, and dresses oh-so-fly.

The Sepia Tones are a recently formed band out of the University of Vermont. Each member is a current student within the music department. Although new to the scene, The Sepia Tones have quickly become popular on the University of Vermont’s campus performing a repertoire that ranges from funk, blues, and rock with an assortment of standards and originals. With the idea of resorting back to a nostalgic sound influenced by many classic artists, their name refers to an old time photograph as if it were taken out of the past. Brian Reid takes care of the drums; Aaron Lopez-Barrantes plays the guitar and sings; McCrae Hathaway plays the bass; and last but not least Brendan Dempsey plays the Saxophone. They are in their second year playing in town, and look for a bright future ahead.
