CHASE MCGUIRE - Tall, quiet, somber. Writes most of the lyics. Handles some of the singing and keyboarding, all of the saxophoning and harmonicaing. Has a really neat basement.
PRESTON SPURLOCK - Chubby, loud, fidgety. Does some singing and writes instrumentals. Plays guitar, does keyboard leads, wrangles toy instruments and noise makers. Likes eating fruit.
Influences
Sleep. Being asleep. The woods. Being asleep in the woods. Walking about. Eating food. Drinking water. Breathing air. Weather patterns. Animals. History. Paranormal activity. And the wonderfully inimitable sound of lo-fi. Or maybe you just wanted to know what bands we like (though you probably didn't) - Beat Happening, Mountain Goats, Eels, Violent Femmes, Daniel Johnston, Jandek, Half Japanese, Jad Fair, R. Stevie Moore, the Shaggs, Pavement, Neutral Milk Hotel, Flipper, Public Image Ltd., the Residents, They Might Be Giants, Devo, and innumerable others.
The Sewing Circle are cousins Chase & Preston. They are from Ohio and Florida (respectively) but currently reside in Illinois and New York (respectively). They see each other pretty much every Thanksgiving and Christmas, and usually at least once during the summer as well. They've been on numerous fun and exciting family trips together, including Mammoth Caves, Thomas Jefferson's home, Las Vegas, the Everglades, Spain, and Frank Lloyd Wright's Falling Water. They have many fond memories of growing up together. Their innumerable creative collaborations eventually led to the formation of the Sewing Circle in January, 2004. They will be your friends, if given the chance. They really like watching movies.
