The SFB Project: Established in February 2009. This Project is in honor and loving memory of my Lifelong Partner Christopher, who lost his battle with addiction in August 2009. The pain of his death hurts many, but his life will teach millions. The world needs to know that addiction does kill. It takes away young, beautiful and talented individuals. Chris was 34 when he took ONE LAST DRINK that made him make a fatal decision to take his own life. I have dedicated the rest of my life to tell his story. To honor him in any way possible. To continue his legacy-to help those who are suffering from addiction and depression. We will fight for those who cannot fight for themselves. The SFB Project connects with anyone who has been touched or hurt from Alcohol or Drug Abuse, Suicide, People suffering from Co-Dependency issues, Domestic Abuse, Coming Out, Homophobia or Gay Hate/Discrimination. The Project was developed to educate the public on how to deal with these issues. We are also in the planning stages for a National Foundation in Chris' memory-The Chris Brady Foundation. The SFB Project has been contacted by thousands of people who have directly related to a featured story on Intervention on A&E that involved its founder and his partner. The shocking reality-The amount of people out there hurting...experiencing tremendous pain that is directly related to addiction and co-dependency. The SFB Project is educating the public on how you can overcome the issues related to addiction, no matter how bad things seem to be. The SFB Project also raises awareness on the IMPORTANCE of speaking up for those who are sick with addiction and the sense of urgency needed to do something before it is too late. The SFB Project will also be concentrating in the area of community and student outreach-talking with students about the dangers of turning to alcohol or drugs just to cope with coming to terms of their sexuality. This is one of the many problems in the life of addiction and is where some of the problem begin and spirals out of control long before someone can do something about it. Most of these students find it impossible to talk to anyone including their families or friends because it is too much to admit that they are gay. The SFB Project also speaks out against hate and discrimination against the gay community that happens in this country. If we all stand together, we can make it CHANGE! Another area of focus will be placed on those who have CO-Dependency Issues or who have been a victim of domestic violence related to addiction. Those who live an active life in addiction need to realize that we are just as sick as our Alcoholic or Addict. ALL OF US need to be in recovery! This project will focus on ANYONE that needs help...Gay or straight. The SFB Project will use its national contacts to open doors for those who are suffering because of addiction and find it hard to get the help that they need.
