The Shadows Staff was born 3 years ago in Madrid, from the ashes of former Luka and Sobi’s band. There have been some changes until they settle on the band they are today: Sobi (voices), Cale (guitar), David (guitar), Wallo (bass) and Luka (drums).
After some months and having played their first gigs, they start writing their own songs, which are close to punk rock music. Next songs approach to the real style of the band, that takes the fury and rage of melodic hardcore and the enjoyable choruses and riffs of punk and rock music, always giving the music their good technique.
After self-producing their first EP in 2008, (including Thw Wolf, Bring me to Silence, Whenever, and their very-well known The Rising), they’ve started giving it all on Madrid scene. They’ve played in very popular venues, like Caracol, Star Café, Cats, Wurlitzer Ballroom and Circulo de Bellas Artes de Madrid.
People like The Shadows Staff, it’s a fact. Maybe because of the power of Sobi’s voice, because of the beautiful and accurate guitar playing from Cale or David, the solidity of their songs, or the fact everybody can actually enjoy their music, doesn’t matter if that guy is a metal head or a noob to hard music. The Shadows Staff have nailed it, and the proof is the wave of success is that is arraving: the Caracol contest, the interview and live show at Cadena Ser (Carrusel de verano), excellent reviews from the media and musical spaces like GruposMadrid, etc.
Currently, the objectives are: keep giving people something to talk about in Madrid’s underground scene, start making their way through the rest of the Spanish territory and look for all the ways that might help them to produce their first LP.
The Shadows Staff nace hace 3 años en Madrid, de las cenizas del anterior grupo de Luka y Sobi. La formación iría cambiando hasta concluir en la actual, que se compone de: Sobi (voces), Cale (guitarra), David (guitarra), Wallo (bajo) y Luka (batería)
Con el paso de los meses, y tras los primeros conciertos, empiezan a componerse las primeras canciones, cercanas al punk rock. Con los siguientes temas irá enfocándose más el estilo exacto de la banda, que fusiona la furia y la mala leche del hardcore melódico con los estribillos y fraseos pegadizos del punk y el rock, sin renunciar a la técnica en ningún momento.
Tras autoproducir y publicar su primer EP en 2008, (incluyendo The Wolf, Bring me to Silence, Whenever, y su canción más conocida, The Rising), han empezado a dar caña por los escenarios de Madrid. Han actuado en salas de reconocido prestigio, como Caracol, Star Café, Cats, Wurlitzer Ballroom y Círculo de Bellas Artes de Madrid, entre otros.
The Shadows Staff gusta, es un hecho. Ya sea por la potente voz de Sobi, por el guitarreo técnico y preciso de Cale o David, la solidez de sus canciones, y el hecho de que pueda atraer a cualquiera, ya sea un amante del sonido más potente o alguien que se esté introduciendo a estos géneros. The Shadows Staff han dado en el clavo: el éxito de la Caracol, la entrevista y actuación en la Cadena Ser (Carrusel de verano), excelentes críticas en diversos medios de carácter musical como GruposMadrid, etc.
Actualmente, los objetivos son seguir dando de qué hablar en la escena underground madrileña, empezar a abarcar por todo el territorio nacional y buscar los medios y apoyos necesarios para lanzar su primer LP.

Pues os seguire la pista! The blackening es uno de los mejores albunes de la decada, para mi gusto, y en general Machine Head son increibles.
Grupo Nazca... vamos a ver, estoy en un grupo que tenemos intencion de llamarnos asi, acabamos de empezar (en febrero) y este verano teniamos intencion de grabar nuestros primeros temas y empezar a dar algun conciertillo. Investigare y comunicare al resto que ya hay un grupo en la escena madrileña que se llama asi xD Respondiendo: No, no tengo nada que ver.
Our new album "Herbarium" is
out now on CdBaby (MP3 so far, physical CD is on its way).
Diverse palette of styles (post-rock,
ambient, electronica, trip-hop, with elements of noise, dub,
neoclassic and free improvisation), united by cinematic, slightly
pensive mood.
«Herbarium» is called so
because of heterogeneity of «songs», which can be
compared to miscellaneous leaves in the album, still being belonged
to the family of trees. Trying to avoid non-alive metaphors here,
only thought of diversity and warm and innermost feeling that
herbarium is capable to conjure up. «... This leaf I picked up
in the park where I met her, and this - I sat by the river,
contemplating...». So tracks were created – one was captured
in some magic jam, another – recorded layer by layer and
meticulously mixed then, next – cut from previous sessions and so
on.
All compositions are united by Poostosh
sense of music – mostly pensive, spatial, tender and experimental.
There's a lot of soul and charisma in every leaf... So please let
your soul look over our HERBARIUM.
