   About The Shakedown

The Shakedown are a vibrant and entertaining Manchester based jazz band. Their humourous approach comes across in their song choices from Led Zeppellin to Black Sabbath, Blur to No Doubt....there's no song that can't get the Shakedown treatment.

With some of the best hard bop jazz players in Manchester you can always expect an entertaining live show. The best part is, you don't have to know loads of jazz standards to enjoy the music!

'Shakedown are masters of tasteful, yet exciting re-arrangement and adaptation in transferring rock classics into a most satisfying and swinging jazz form, The Shakedown Jazz Band are quite likely the most talented sextet to grab jazz by the 'comfort zone' in many a year. Prepare to find many of your preconceptions about rock and jazz ripped to shreds on the floor.

The Shakedown are just about to release their first album entitled 'Terracotta' which pulls together their approach to rock songs alongside material of their own. With a jazz standard 'Honeysuckle Rose' thrown in to show the true roots this album is a real mixture. Soon to be available on Itunes.

Urgh, why is my brother such a nerd.

I seriously think you should change your name permantly to BTW!

And then when you big and famous
and they introduce you on radio one as " Mr BTW" I can tell my grand kids that that was because of me.

(As you can see my friday nights are just a blast now I am grounded)

Hi Paul, yes certainly is a small world! I have worked with Steve too. You're all sounding great and I love the video! It sort of reminded me of candid camera or Beadles about!! I think you should do one in every city and create a jazzometre to record the impact you made in each one! Good luck with it all.
