Biografía

The Shake es un viaje que comienza hace nueve años en Almería (España). Enamorados del beat, el garage, el soul y el pop, esta banda ha conseguido desde sus comienzos hacerse un sitio entre el pelotón de bandas 60s, tanto por su capacidad para construir canciones más allá de los típicos riffs, como por la particularidad de su sonido, sobrio y elegante a partes iguales. Si en cierto modo, The Shake podría ser otro elaborado ejercicio de mimetismo musical, les redime la única pretensión de entretener a gente de gustos afines a ellos. Su primer álbum "Trippin' the whole colourful world", se publicó en España en el 2006 (Flor y Nata) y en USA en 2007 (Rainbow Quartz). Es tiempo de aprender de casi todo, de tocar mucho, en pequeñas salas, en salas grandes, en festivales como el internacionalmente conocido Purple Weekend de León (Spain), o el International Pop Overthrow Festival de Liverpool, llegando a tocar en el escenario más mítico del Cavern. En este periodo se hacen habituales de prestigiosos programas de radio de ámbito nacional (Flor de Pasión, El sótano, rne3...), e internacional (Little Steven's Underground Garage, NYC, USA). Además en su país son distinguidos como mejor grupo Mod-Beat en los Premios al Pop Español concedidos en el Cáceres Pop Art Festival en el año 2007. Esta etapa se cierra con la grabación de su primer single de 7" para la etiqueta madrileña Hey Girl! Records. Tras un largo paréntesis de casi dos años regresan en 2010 con "Try to get Ready", su 2º lp, en un envidiable estado de forma, diez temas nuevos de composición propia, donde el garage-beat más rabioso se mezcla con nuevas influencias de música negra obteniendo como resultado un disco clásico y brillante, adictivo desde la primera escucha... En esta nueva andadura será la prometedora etiqueta Sunny Day Records la encargada de publicarlo. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ The Shake is a trip that begins nine years ago in Almeria (Spain). Lovers of beat, garage, soul and pop, this band have managed from his beginning to get a space between the squad of 60s bands, both for his inexhaustible talent to construct songs beyond the typical riffs, and for the particularity of his sound, soberly and elegantly to equal parts. If in certain way, The Shake might be another elaborated exercise of musical mimetism, they are redeemed by the only pretension to entertain like-minded people than them. His first album, "Trippin' the whole colourful world", was published in Spain in 2006 (Flor y Nata) and in the USA in 2007 (Rainbow Quartz). It is time to learn almost everything, to play a lot, in small clubs, in large clubs, at festivals as the internationally famous Purple Weekend de León (Spain) or the International Pop Overthrow Festival in Liverpool, where they play at the legendary Cavern club. In this period they became regular at prestigious radio programs nationwide (Flor de Pasión, El sótano; rne3...) and international (Little Steven's Underground Garage, NYC, USA). Also at home are distinguished as the best Mod-Beat band in the Spanish Pop Awards granted in the Cáceres Pop Art Festival in 2007. This phase ends with the recording of their first 7"single for the label Hey Girl! Records (Madrid). After a long parenthesis of almost two years they return in 2010 with "Try to get Ready", his 2nd lp, in an enviable good shape, ten new songs of own composition, where the wildest garage-beat mixes with new influences of black music obtaining a classic and brilliant, addictive disc from the first listen… In this new stage will be the promising label Sunny Day Records the manager of publishing it.
