Shamrock first came together in early September 2008, where the four members, still students, agreed to explore traditional Irish music and bring it to the local Montréal and Gatineau/Ottawa stage for sheer passion of the genre. The group mixes Irish folk and their own roots, French-canadian folk, into one sound with a collection of four voices, banjo, mandolin, fiddle, guitar, and tin whistle. University trained guitarists, classical training, autodidact chansonniers, electro-accoustic composers, alternative rock band members, trained and untrained signers - they bring whatever knowledge they've amassed through their experiences to make Shamrock a vibrant collection of music for themselves and for those who listen. C'mon, guys. We're here to have fun!
