   About The Shivers
YOU CAN GET HOLD OF SHIVERS MUSIC FROM WWW.THESHIVERS.CO.UK OR The Shivers

The Shivers are a rock n roll band from Cambridge, England. Comprised of four modest and polite gentlemen, the band have no real aim as such, other than to be the best at what they do and enjoy themselves doing it. They entertain no notions of ever conquering the UK music scene, mainly because they think it is pony.

They currently enjoy a cult status, thanks to a rootsy sound which eschews electric guitars and fuzz pedals in favour of slide guitar, ukulele and untypical methods.

The wide range of influences that permeates their tunes and the raw power of their live performances have enabled them to work with many different artists such as The Kaiser Chiefs, Babyshambles, Chas n Dave, Status Quo, The Waterboys & Paul Weller.

Previous low key releases have received airplay worldwide, including the late John Peel himself!

With new single "Merry-Go-Round" due for release in March, 2008 is gonna be business as usual for the Shivers.

Most recently, they have topped the NME's cherry-pick of Cambridge bands to watch out for, in the annual NME Student's Guide! They were also the very first band to be played on the newly FM-licensed Radio 209! So check 'em out!

Hey up,

Yep, spent the weekend out in Cherry Hinton as ever. Hard to pick highlights, but Karine Polwart was much better than I'd expected and it was good to see The Levellers live for the first time for a few years - Levelling The Land was one of those albums I seemed to have on repeat for a fair few years.

Good to see you and Emily again, and doubtless catch some or all of you at a gig before too long; I caved and brought Big Star/Hitchcock tickets, so perhaps see you at SBE come the end of the month.

Cheers,

Jack.

I can't access your blog for some reason but I'm assuming you're breaking up just as the merry go round single gets a great review in Noisy and I was planning to come see you play Billericay (which I'm assuming isn't going ahead now?) I enjoyed your music and will miss you!
