    The 6th annual The Shoot Out Boulder 24 Hour Filmmaking Festival will kick off on September 25th at 5:55 PM in front of the Boulder County Court House. Hope to see you there!

  • Music

    PROCESS IS SIMPLE! Each film can be no longer than 7 minutes in length (including credits) and must be edited in-camera and returned to the event organizers no later than 24 hours after the start of the event. All films must include 5 of the eleven items announced at the start of the event in “The Brief.” All films are judged to come up with the Top 10 Films for the Gala Screening Event.

    BoulderFest (A Love the Local Celebration), Downtown Boulder's newest festival, is a celebration of all things Boulder!

    Last plug for The Shoot Out Boulder: Tickets are now on sale for The Shoot Out Boulder's Top 10 Film screening! Sunday, October 12th, 1 p.m. at The Boulder Theater.
    Tickets are only $10-$15!

    The Shoot Out Boulder is a 24 hour filmmaking festival. Filmmakers are required to make a 7-minute or under film with in-camera edits only. They are given a list of 11 items to put in the film to keep them honest.

Join together friends & family to have a 24hour rush of movie making excitement. The experience will be invaluable to any and all levels of future film endeavors.

    The Shoot Out Boulder asks filmmakers to trust their courage, imagination and determination by making a 7-minute film in just 24 hours. The challenge and skill involved becomes evident with the list of required technical, material, and timing 'rules' for creating the films. However courage isn't always enough, so we are have found that the more we can provide to participants prior to the event in terms of knowledge and best practices, the better off everyone will be in terms of actually completing the event and getting their film into the competition. While attending this workshop doesn't guarantee you will win, it does give you a firmer foundation on what is possible within the limitations imposed with a better chance of having your film seen.

    Fast Films at New Vista High School. This event is designed to help prepare the 17 & under filmmakers for The Shootout Boulder which will occur on October 12-14, 2007.

    The day-long event will inspire young film-makers to make a fast film while teaching them the methodology of successful short-form storytelling, lighting, directing, and in-camera editing. Special emphasis will be paid to The Shoot Out’s official format and requirements.

    The workshop is a great way to help young filmmakers find their vision, learn problem solving skills, and meet new friends. After this event, students should have a head-start on preparing for the upcoming Shoot Out the next weekend. (For more information on the Shoot Out, visit www. theshootoutboulder. com)
