Workshops for High School & College Singers/Songwriters and Bands
Mission Statement:
Our mission is to provide high-school and college age musicians with a distinctive educational experience, centered on the art and practice of live music performance.
Session 1: WORKSHOP FOR HIGH SCHOOL & COLLEGE BANDS
About The Session:
The Show's “Workshop for Bands” consists of a two-week workshop, taught by working professionals, for high school and college students with experience in a band.* Bands may include, but are not limited to, rock, funk, jazz, and alternative. Varying levels of instruction will be provided at the workshop in order for students to master the skills necessary for the execution of their craft.
Courses will include:
· Instrument Clinics
· Music Theory
· Songwriting Concepts
· Sound System Basics
· Signal Processing Effects Such as Delay and Reverb
· Electrical Concepts and Applications
· Intro to Bookings and Marketing
· Rehearsal Techniques
Session 2: WORKSHOP FOR HIGH-SCHOOL & COLLEGE SINGER/SONGWRITERS
About The Session:
The Show’s “Workshop for Singer/Songwriters” consists of a two-week afternoon course for high-school and college age singer/songwriters. Varying levels of instruction will be provided at the workshop in order for students to master the skills necessary for the execution of their craft.
You will attend courses run by Bryan Rombalski - a musician, guitarist and composer with over 30 years of experience. These will be run in a group setting and cover a wide variety of subjects.
Courses will cover:
· Music Theory - Scales, Intervals, Chords, Rhythms, Dynamics, Tempo, Melodies · Songwriting and Composition Techniques
· Lyrical Construction
· Accompaniment, Band Dynamics, Active Listening
· Inspirational Outlook
Singers will have the opportunity to showcase their work at Espresso Milano Coffee House in downtown Midland each Friday night during the workshop.
