Seth Turner has been singing for as long as he can remember. His invariable ability to carry a tune and his extreme love for music is evident in everything that he does. Country music is so dear to his heart that he has never put anything before it, except for his family.
Seth is influenced by many different country artists including Merle Haggard, Alan Jackson, Patsy Cline, Fleetwood Mac, Jim Reeves, and Dwight Yoakam as well as artists such as Bob Seger and The Eagles. These artists are what have influenced him to be the strong vocalist and powerful songwriter that he is today. Seth takes an enormous amount of pride in his talent as a storytelling songwriter. “My parents were very diverse in their tastes in music, but one thing they seemed to play the most were the storytellers. Today, as a songwriter, I pride myself in being a storyteller,” he exclaimed.
Seth Turner began his journey to success in Custer, South Dakota. He was hired at sixteen to sing in Hillbilly Heaven during the Black Hills tourist season. This monumental performance marked the beginning of his career. Seth received an astounding reaction from the crowd on his first performance, and it was then that he knew he had found his niche and would pursue country music.
At nineteen, Seth decided to further his aspirations by moving to Las Vegas. He has since written hundreds of songs and become one of Las Vegas’ premier country stars. After trying out a few unsuccessful bands, Seth realized that he should focus on his song-writing abilities. It was then that Jeff Cook, lead guitarist and fiddle player for the musical group Alabama, discovered Seth’s talent and asked to play a show with him at a local club. After a while of playing with many artists at popular venues things started picking up for Seth, which inevitably led to the development of a successful band.
A majority of Seth’s songs are reflections of his personal perspective on life. These views are based, not only on his own personal life, but also on the experiences of his friends. Seth speaks plainly in what he writes because of his focus on getting the story told. “I don’t use any metaphors when I speak to folks. I tend to just tell it like it is without a lot of sugar coating,” he stated. Seth only writes something when he has something to say, “I’ve never been the type to sit down and write something for the sake of writing,” he explained. Seth is a simple, common man who connects with people by telling the stories that they already know, already lived, and fondly remember.
Seth’s first recorded album, “Another Day in My Life,” sold thousands of copies primarily out of the back seat of his car. His tribute to Chris Ledoux was well received by his fans and the PRCA (Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association). The PRCA asked him to sing, “Goodbye Chris” when Mr. Ledoux was inducted into the Pro Rodeo Hall of Fame. He has always been a hero to Seth, and that was certainly a monumental moment in his career.
Seth Turner has since been receiving critical acclaim, and is now more popular than ever. The legendary Las Vegas disc jockey, Mitch Kelly, had this to say, “Seth comes across with a fresh, honest sound of a guy who’s lived the life. One of the better storytellers I’ve heard and definitely a voice to be reckoned with. The look, the sound, the stories, the package, Seth’s got it!” Seth Turner’s traditional voice and lyrics really bring back what Country music ought to be.

I’ve been a music journalist for more than 10 years. Over the years, many artists and managers have asked me what the best way to break into the European music market is.
Here are some things you can do:
Publish artist press releases, news, and tour dates to the CountryHome Forum on MySpace, http://groups.myspace.com/CountryHomeMagazine , CountryHome Forum is part of CountryHome, http://www.CountryHome.de , Germany's Premier Country Music Online Magazine. Everything you publish to the CountryHome Forum will be published in my weekly Newsletter which has over 80,000 readers.
Send me CDs and DVDs for review and set up an artist interview with me. All reviews and interviews will be submitted to the magazines I'm writing for. More information for which magazines I'm writing can be found at http://www.MySpace.com/ChristianLamitschka
Upload artist videos to http://www.MyVideo.de and http://www.ClipFish.de . Both websites are like http://www.YouTube.com and uploading videos is free. The websites are completely in German. If you don’t speak German and need assistance, I will help you open an account and upload a video for 25 Euro. Each additional video upload for the same artist name and at the same video website is 10 Euro.
If you have more questions about the European music market or about any of the information I send to you today, please contact me at Ch.Lamitschka@t-online.de too.
