The Sixth Letter is a band whos frontman is no stranger to the term... 'do it yourself'..... Spending hour upon hour making beats on what is now considered primitive recording equipment - FLETCH aka Mr.F has always stuck to his musical guns, resulting in a unique form of the music he grew up with.... 'I got into it because it had swearing in, and also because I liked how it borrowed from any genre of music and twisted into something new. I stopped digging for samples a few years ago because I'd been to as many car-boot sales as I could handle & wanted more of a life! So I set out to meet some musicians to work on a sound that would accommodate a live band. As a result, my approach to hip-hop music will not have the purists applauding......but they can kiss my arse anyway' The self proclaimed 'hip-hopper who has lived about as far away from hip-hop culture as you can get', The Sixth Letter brand of rap music takes in a glut of influences, emits powerful emotion in parts & ridiculous humour in others. 'I've absorbed all the music I love & put it into our sound. What comes out is a direct reflection of my life as a music fan, forward slash, artist. The lyrics vary from things I've said in the spur of a story telling moment in the pub, to personal tales of failure and embarrassment - not subjects too many rappers care to cover off in their material, but it makes for an interesting listen!'.
