With a sound that resonates with the energy of rock and punk, the Caribbean "riddims" of reggae, ska, and dancehall as well as the rhythmic appeal of hip-hop funk and soul, "The Skeletones" deliver a fusion of sound that is as diverse as their Southern California roots... yet as easily accessible as a groove. It is with this distinction that they have commanded stage performances on 3 continents for nearly 20 years.
Formed in 1986 by Paul "Prince Skeletone" Hampton, "The Skeletones" have honed their craft by playing alongside rock icons like No Doubt, Sublime, The Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Fishbone, Incubus, The Skatalites, Bad Religion, 311 and countless others.
2009 Has Been a busy year for The Skeletones they started the year off performing at the Mt. High Ski Resorts, Annual King of The Hill Event (thousands attended) They also hit the Downtown Riverside Street Jam along with long time friends Voo Doo Glow Skulls and The Debonaires the streets of Riverside were rockign that night!! The Skeletones had a blast at UCR's annual Spring Splash as well as the this years Inland Empire Music Awards. Just coming down off a a busy Summer line up with shows like The 2009 Arizona Riverfest, The Las Vegas World Series of Poker Party, or simply Skankin it up at Club Mozambique in Laguna Beach... the Tones have been busy!

There was once a fourteen year old freshman at JW North high school in Riverside, he had never been in any kind of pit and had just heard the chill reggae beats of Sublime. One day he was rummaging through some of his uncles old CD's and came across one with a red cover and skeleton doing some weird gesture and a bright yellow label that read "secret bonus track". The rest is history. Three years later that freshman from North has skanked to bands like Voodoo Glow Skulls, crowd surfed to the Mighty Mighty Bosstones, swayed his body to the Expanders and Debonaires, and had a blast at an Ozomatli show. Positive Vibes now verberate through his veins so much that his future kids will come into this world with some sick ass locks.
And after all of it, he still remembers playing that red album covered CD and hearing the waves and beats of She Just Wants To, Jill Victoria, and Boneshaker forever reminding him that through the thick and the thin, it is never a bad time to skank it up and to love life.
