The Skivvys formed in the 1990s by a group of school teenage guys interested in similar types of music. Coming from Melbourne, Australia, they were heavily influenced by the brit-post punk scene. The guys would play in & around Melbourne schools. Cover songs included "A Forest" by The Cure & Led Zep stuff. Crowd favorites included ICU & 'cat' song, with lead bass lines, shimmering thru a fender valve amp. Cranked up guitars thru gorilla amps would provide a characteristic sound. Gigs would end with a characteristic smashing of an orange inflatable guitar, from Drummer & later-2-become jungle DJ extraordinaire: Richard Galvin... The Skivvys lead singer & bassist Andrew continues his music career as a composer of science fiction & electronica songs, starring his beloved Yamaha DX7 Synth... and of course the boys grew up!!!
