4 talented, young musicians came together in the summer & fall of 2007 to form the Hit-Party-Pop Rock Cover Band, The Slap Happies. Music by today's popular artists as well as great hits from the 80's, 90's and even some from the 70's... Guaranteed (in the words of Pink).... to "Get the Party Started!"............
Alex Sloan (a classically trained violinist) is featured on Guitar and Lead Vocals. His solos always leave the crowd begging for more, and, his high energy vocals work perfectly when belting out great music from The Killers, Lit, Fall Out Boy, The Cure, Billy Idol & many more.
Kumari Miker (formerly of Boston's Premier Popular Girl Band) plays Bass and sings Leads on songs from Pink, No Doubt, Blondie, Pat Benatar and many more. Her sultry, deep voice really compliments Alex's and rounds out the band's sound. The singing female bass player is always a crowd favorite and many have said she plays better and rocks harder than most guys....
Heinz Reiske is the smoking, professional piano-man that gives The Slap Happies their edge & unique sound to properly cover the huge range of songs in the band's repertoire. From grooving organ to funky sound effects, his keys get the people on their feet. Orginally from the shores of Jersey and inner city of New York, Heinze joined the group just a few months ago, but he fits like a glove (a funky glove!)
Nick Talarico plays Drums and sings backing vocals. If the rest of the band brings the funk, Nick certainly brings the noise. His great sense of timing, and his philosophy of "just hit everything... hard" provide the back-bone for this outfit. And, as an amateur stand-up comic, he also brings the comic relief and goofball attitude that pervades every Slap Happies show!
