"Boom Patrol" Reviews....
Left of The Dial[8/3/06]
"Erase You catapults inch by inch from a dark vendetta place, all magnetic tape/deletion dictums in place. And the pop choruses still resonate like radium[...]This is for both hummers and poster children of post-rock, for those who like something both savvy and sonically molten messy and just rough enough in the joints"
Insomnia Radio - "Daily Dose" [8/2/06]
"Imagine comic-book versions of Mudhoney and The Cars, drunk in a basement, and you've got The Slats. And thank the indie gods they're here.
"Call My Telephone" is from their October 3 2006 release "Boom Patrol" and it manages to pay sufficient homage to Rick Springfield, while still capturing a fresh air of originality, something this band is dripping with."
How come the only CD I can find to order is Pick it up at Barnes and Nobles??? And I know you don't want to play a show in Pittsburgh ever again, but is there anywhere close you are gonna go?
Mark, Brian, Jon - Hope you guys are well. Thought you might wanna see that my Williams Sisters are just about up and running now. Keep making that amazing music. Cheers, Dave.
i wanted to do a cover of "POPE MAHONE" tonight... but it's been 12 years or more and i don't remember the words... i know of at least 2 people who would love to hear a rendition....
there's a certain trailer out that looks pretty awesome, but it seems to be missing your song. surely this was an oversight on hollywood's part that will corrected before the movie's release. also, happy new year slats!
Thank You very much for coming up and celebrating the release with us. It meant the world to have you guys there to play. We started this band in hopes of being like The Slats so it was rad you where there for our record release. Let me know what you guys think of the record when you have some time. Let's set up something soon.
