The Slider is JESS LEEDY (Lead Vocals, Guitar, Saxophone) ERIK (e-rok) RICHARDS (Bass, Guitars, B.Vocals, Synthesizers, Drum Programming) DAVE BRANDON (Drums.) Slider has a unique blend of reggae/ska/hip hop/funk/punk rock! And their sound has been compared to bands like, 311/UB4O/SLIGHTLY STOOPID/SUBLIME/STEEL PULSE/GREEN DAYWe had our first gig at an outside Halloween party were we had about 300 people in attendance! The gig was a hit, and soon after Slider was playing festivals and the club circuit in Ventura and Los Angeles counties including Club Blue/Agoura hills, Seabee Day’s/Port Hueneme, The Joint/Hollywood, Pitcher House/Hermosa Beach, Nicolby’s/Ventura, and reggae Tuesday at the Sand Bar in Santa Barbara. Slider has finished a 16-song record entitled “CHINGASO STYLE” which is to be released on ITUNES in Jan 2007 as well as on compact disc in summer of 2007. Slider is a sight to see! Surfers with Sombreros are a sort of Westside story with a Latin/Beach vibe! Slider shows have been successful with very little advertisement, and has had big sales at the bar when they play. They have already started recording their second album entitled “BORRACHO” which songs are already in rotation in their live set. Slider is part of the SOMISSOUND family, which includes such artist as BECK, PETER DISTAFANO, ROSS SHIFFLET and DEBRAH ANDERSON to name a few. All the members in Slider have over 13 years of live performance and recording experience under their belt, and have shared the stage with bands like, GENERALPUBLIC/SUBLIME/STEELPULSE/PATOBANTON/ENGLISHBEAT/RATT/SPECIALS/NODOUBT/SAVEFERRIS/UGLYKIDJOE/LETSGOBOWLING/FISHBONE/TOASTERS/SKATALITES/MU33O, BAD MANNERS. Slider has a song featured in a surf movie put out by Surfing Magazine in 2006 entitled CALIFRAGALISTIC. Slider released thee songs on download.com and in the first week of being released two out of the three songs went to 1 in their categories and held that spot for over a week. After that they were featured as “Artist Pick of the Week! In February 2007 Slider will be shooting for a video in five different locations that include a live performance shooting at Nicolby’s in Ventura, ca as well as barrio, farm field, beach, and cantina footage shot in old town Oxnard. In May of 2007, Slider entered into the Battle of the bands at the Conejo Valley Days Festival, which draws over 80 thousand people in Thousand Oaks, Ca and took first place! The Slider also played live on the radio for 92.9 kjee Santa Barbara in June 07, and was flooded with calls about the performance. The Slider will headline The Majestic Ventura Theatre on July 20th, so look out for The Slider coming to a concert venue near you!!!!!!!! ..
