The Slipper Kings, Burlington's favorite rock underdogs, formed in October of 2005. Common philosophies on life and years of performance experience brought together guitarist James Rowe and drummer Dave O'Leary, who thought their unique sound could be the basis of a truly rocking band. After a few acoustic sessions, bassist Dave Carlson, formerly of the Huntington Project, joined in the mix, and the Slipper Kings were born.
The Slipper Kings bring many different influences to the table, and have formed a musical philosophy of their own in the year they have been together. The band believes in constantly honing their craft, and thus never find themselves in a creative rut. This works out great for their fans, who are treated to a new experience every time they perform. And what an experience it is - the Kings are known to be wild, energetic, fun-loving and never predictable.
Swinging comfortably between songs about love, politics, family, and even claw hammers, the Slipper Kings tell a riveting and revealing story of the struggle and ridiculousness of modern life. While their sound takes on many dimensions and is ever evolving, they are heavily influenced by punk, alternative, garage rock and rockabilly.
jesus, there are two daves in this band, which is odd, because the drummer is "David" in my book. You guys need to sort that shit out before ye hit the big time, or maybe ham up the irishness and call one of ye "daithi" or something. Anyhow keep up that wild thin mercurial sound and never forget that rock is not from the soul (it's from the crotch) and that Kieran is the handsome one in the leary family (apart from D.J's obvious future ruggedness)
You guys are so lucky to have our bassist that was shaped and molded for 4 1/2 years by our music. Dude, as you know he can totally sit in with just about anyone. We hope you enjoy him AMAP. Love your guitar riffs the most on 'Guitar Radiation'. Sweet everything really. Keep writing your delicious tunes.

Don't go thinking you're all intelligent and superior, now. That is not a beer in my hand; that beer happens to be in the grasp of my slightly Asian alter-ego. :P
And don't take offense to the omission... I haven't re-done my music list in about a year and a half. Trust me, when I do, the Slipper Kings will be listed prominently. Though I might be more motivated to fix my profile if you, say, played a few more shows. Just sayin'. :)
