After more then 200 gigs around the UK from Glasgow to London, Liverpool to Newcastle, THE SNEAKYPEEKS are one of the most exciting live acts to have ever come out of York. Selling out their local barfly (Fibbers), reaching the top 30 of the Radio One indie charts, playing Rocket festival in Spain and being invited to play at Andy Taylor’s (Duran Duran) party in Ibiza are just some of the highlights they have experienced over the summer of 2008.
Formed back in 2005, they were initially a four-piece band known as Cohesion and soon became a three-piece made up of brothers PAUL (lead vocals and guitars) and RICH (drums and backing vocals) and are joined by MATT(bass and backing vocals). The band grew up in Yorkshire on music from bands such as The Doors, Fleetwood Mac, ACDC, Blur and U2. The Sneakys have now carefully crafted their very own tight live sound and aim to deliver their music with the excitement that the Kings of Leon and The Wombats have, and the energy of Muse and The Killers.
After recording a demo at Voltage Studios, Bradford, in December 2007, they were signed by Voltage Records and went on to record an albums worth of material and have released two singles with this label. Now signed to Compass Management, a London based company run by Darren Henderson (ex senior vice president of Sony Music) things are continuing to heat up!
Currently writing new material and gigging in London, the band also have a limited edition five track EP out now.
