WILDPEACHES	Apr 1 2008 3:35 PM OPENING RECEPTION: FRIDAY, April 4, 2008 from 9pm to 12am City Of Ink Art Show features artwork from one of Atlanta’s known unknowns—Waye Hesk. In 1998 Waye apprenticed with Totem 2—a well known artist from the crew GSK. Waye painted until 2001, studied graphic design at The Creative Circus, and in 2006 left school to finally pursue his lifelong dream as a freelance illustrator and designer. Waye has worked at the Shandon Anderson Foundation and was published in an art book/magazine called "Dreamwater". His style of work reflects a contemporary urban experience as a graffiti artist and graphic designer meet. He can find inspiration in everything from music, to friends, to art, to inanimate objects, and in any life forms. He is also very experienced with vector art, and has been doing design work for numerous start-up companies—as well as designing the imprint ’HeskCo’. The majority of his pieces today are still done by hand unless they are designed in Adobe Illustrator from scratch. Computer applications such as Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop enhance his work, and he feels "the cleaner the better"… "I have to be careful of what I communicate visually as an artist because as adults we are the example kids follow". The City of Ink Tattoo & Art Gallery has monthly artist exhibitions and will feature the works of Waye Hesk of Hesk. Co with a submission of talent by www. thesnkrbox. net laser engraving. City of Ink is located in the Castleberry Art District at 323 Walker St. Atlanta, Ga 30313. For more information on the Gallery please call 404.525.4465.
